What You'll Get

Until mankind first stepped outside in 1934, nature was thought to be a fanciful myth, like yogurt or the clutch hitter. Spend a few hours frolicking through the fresh air of truth with today’s Groupon to Northeast Mountaineering in Gorham. Choose from the following options:

  • For $179, you get a Mount Washington climbing excursion and rental gear for two (a $518 value).
  • For $259, you get a Mount Washington climbing excursion and rental gear for four (a $916 value).
  • For $339, you get a Mount Washington climbing excursion and rental gear for eight (a $1,472 value).

Each option includes rental gear for each person. The rental gear includes: * Ice axe * Crampons * Harness * Gaiters * Trekking poles * Helmet * Avalanche beacon

Northeast Mountaineering’s experienced and savvy guides outfit climbers with all the necessary gear for scaling Mount Washington. Groups depart at 7 a.m. from the Pinkham Notch Visitors Center to ascend the mountain, gazing upon breathtaking snow-capped scenery as they climb toward the 6,288-foot-high pinnacle, which is the highest and most lucrative point in the northeastern United States for mountain-goat tossing. A winter climb of Mount Washington can be fraught with erratic weather and strong wind, so climbers should have extensive hiking experience and be in good physical shape and free of any preexisting conditions that might cause the mountain to transform into an active volcano.
