About A Chat with Northridge Traditional Martial Arts
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
First, kids must train with a parent. Second, our martial arts is the total package with a long history. To name a few things, we teach fundamentals (strikes and kicks), techniques (throws/pins, pressure points, joint locks), weapons (about a dozen or so), and forms, in a respectful environment.
What equipment is provided? Is there anything visitors need to bring?
As students progress, basic training weapons and kick pads will be made available. New students should bring an extra pair of clothes and something loose and comfortable, but will not slip off with practice.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Preparedness is a very important state of being, one that I want to share with others. As a single woman and now a single parent, I have learned that each person is valuable and should treat themselves as such. Learning how to defend yourself and those you love is a great starting point.
What do you love most about your job?
My favorite part of teaching is seeing the light bulb spark in someone's eyes. That spark represents a little more confidence and encouragement to learn more and work harder.
