Instead of training his students for tournaments like many other martial-arts schools, Northwest Martial Arts Academy's master instructor, Frederick Natividad, focuses on basic self-defense and fitness in his four martial-arts tracks: tae kwon do, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu , and mixed martial arts. Natividad, who has more than 20 years of martial-arts experience, teaches adults and youths hand-to-hand combat and how to use weapons in tae kwon do classes that pair with muay thai kickboxing. During MMA boot camps, he teaches new students 16 and older a variety of fighting styles.
Amazing instructor, very encouraging and a good workout!

Awesome class! Great instructor. Id recommend this class to people who either have a work-out buddy or individuals who are comfortable being paired up with new people for 2-person portions of the class (which is about 50% of the time). Definitely not a slow paced class but if you're really into it (and with a little instruction) you'll be keeping up with the returning athletes in no time! Master Rick is very friendly and accommodating. Great mix of skill building, muscle building and stamina. Will definitely be returning in the fall.
