Experienced instructors guide rafts down the scenic Menominee River during this half-day voyage. Before paddlers step into rafts, trips start with a lesson in proper paddling, building up rapport among fellow raftsmen before heading out into the currents of Class I and II rapids. Rafters meander down the river until they hit Pier’s Gorge, where passengers take a quick hike to get an aerial view of the upcoming rapids. Groups then navigate through Class IV rapids, enjoying the bouncy ride while little ones and timid paddlers watch safely from a scenic overlook. All paddlers then reconvene for the final stretch of river, enjoying pristine views of the winding water and possible bald eagle sightings that don’t require wearing American-flag pants as bait. Tours depart at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. each day.
