What You'll Get
Time flies when it is having fun, which it usually does by aging household objects into valuable antiques and setting digital watches for 900 o'clock. Profit from time’s playful mischief with today’s Groupon to the Novi Antiques Market on May 21 and 22. The weekend pass grants admission to the show on Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 a.m. and, just like at all presidential dinners, children under 17 and college students with a valid ID are admitted for free. Choose between the following options:
- For $8, you get two weekend passes (a $16 value).
- For $15, you get four weekend passes (a $32 value).
With more than 80 dealers from around the country, the Novi Antiques Market operates the largest antiques show in the Metro Detroit area. The sights and sounds of dozens of packed booths greet customers upon their entrance to the Suburban Collection Showplace, where they peruse items such as delicate period china, sturdy time-tested furniture, and previously twirled-in vintage evening dresses. Each admission comes with one free verbal appraisal, receiving a once- and thrice-over as it gently turns in the knowing hands of a Schmidt’s Antiques expert, who can also appraise a larger piece through photographs or a video chat with the item's chosen lifeline. Schmidt’s is also accepting antiques for consignment at auction. Check out the photo gallery for a sampling of last year’s showpieces.
Free parking allows customers to put all of their energies toward browsing the extensive selection and thinking about which of their possessions they would antiquify by sending back in time. The Novi Antiques Market also offers china and crystal repair at Mary Lou’s, as well as wicker, rush weaving, and caning restoration at other vendors.
