What You'll Get
Contrary to popular belief, boats are actually much safer than cars, which inexplicably sink every time you drive them on water. Take a proper water-road ride with today’s Groupon from Northwest Boat Rentals in Poulsbo. Choose between the following options:
- For $27, you get a 90-minute wine-and-appetizer cruise (a $54 value).
- For $24, you get a two-hour guided NuCanoe tour of Liberty Bay, plus 20% off at The Loft restaurant (a $49 value).
Departing at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, the wine-and-appetizer cruise glides through Liberty Bay aboard the water version of a limousine, which comes fully equipped with a heater to defy Mother Nature's colder temperaments. Clink two glasses of wine from St. Hilaire Winery in Yakima Valley to toast sightings of seals or Mount Rainer on clear days. After an appetizer plate of Northwest–style smoked salmon and cheese from Crimson Cove, guests can relax into the boat’s well-cushioned seating or play bird bingo to reward those who can spot bald eagles, herons, or biplanes the fastest. Eight people fit in each water vessel, but the ship can’t sail without the company of at least four seafarers. Depending on boat availability, small parties may be combined in the same vessel. Guests under 21 may join the wine cruise, but will be served non-alcoholic beverages.
The NuCanoe combines a sit-on-top kayak with a sport canoe. Each aqua steed carries a combined weight of up to 475 pounds and includes two seats, which provide plenty of leg room for cramp-less comfort and endless arm space for daguerreotyping and rowing. During the two-hour tour, paddlers can observe the wilderness or monitor the progress of their guide as they are lead through the sparkly waterscape of Liberty Bay. Afterward, recoup energy spent reenacting the climatic ending of Lawrence of Arabia with an included 20% discount to The Loft. Tours depart at 9:30 a.m.
Cruises and tours are subject to availability, so call ahead for reservations.

About Northwest Boat Rentals and Adventures
A descendant of fishermen and boat captains who have called the area's coastal waters home for more than a century, Captain Arch regales visitors with nautical stories while showing off his fleet of rental boats. Watercraft ranges from electric Duffy boats to sailboats, which allows the captain to equip renters for adventures such as fishing, waterskiing, or leisurely scenic floats. Beyond rentals, Arch's crew arranges guided trips, including visits to Blake Island, or beverage and appetizer cruises fortified with local wines, smoked salmon, and waiters imported from France.
