Q:

Is your office open on the weekends? Could I have the procedure on a Saturday and plan to go into work on Monday without having to take vacation days? Also, I have a couple of floaters...does this rule me out as a candidate as I am healthy otherwise?

Kathy L.  asked on  Sep 14, 2011

A:

In regards to the floater, you'll have to be seen by one of our doctors! Hopefully everything is fine and we'd be able to get you to that 20/20 or better vision our patients recieve! Thai, Patient Consultant NYNJLasik

A:

Heya Kathy, Our office is open for consultations on Saturday and followup visits for those who have done surgery on Friday, so what would be optimal to do is have the surgery on a Friday, have the followup on Saturday, and by Monday you would be near 100% in vision; remember you can have surgery one day and go to work on the next!! You should not take vacation days for this, save them for actual vacation! :) Hope to hear from you soon! Thai, Patient Consultant NYNJLasik

Q:

I am interested in this deal but I have a few questions I need answered. 1) I called to schedule an appointment as soon as possible but said that there are no available appointments until next week. I would like to schedule my consultation before I buy the deal, but the deal will expire by next week. What should I do? 2) What is the difference between traditional lasik, bladeless lasik, I Lasik, Intralace, and PRK? Does one better results than the other? Do all provide the exact same results in the long run? 3) How long does your vision stay 20/20 after lasik surgery has been performed? Can I do it again if I am a candidate 20 years from now and my vision has been impaired again? 4)What if I am a candidate but I decide I do not want to do the surgery anymore, can i get refunded? 5)The last time I got an eye exam done was in June 2011, before that I got it done June of 2009. My vision has shifted from -3.75 to -4.75. Can I still have the exam done? 6) I have VSP as an insurance for my eyes, do you guys take that insurance, will I get additional coverage via my VSP insurance? 7) What is PRK? is there an additional cost for this? 8)Why are you telling people to get a consultation before we buy the Groupon? Aren't we going to get refunded if we dont qualify. Why does it matter to get a consultation? 9)If I get this surgery done, will be able to see near sight and far sight?

Ahad A.  asked on  Sep 14, 2011

A:

Dear Ahad, We are sorry for the inconvenience, because of the high patient volume due to this amazing deal it's been difficult to accomodate everyone. Just give us another call at 888-527-4542 and we'll try to accomodate you as best as possible before the deal runs out. Secondly, Lasik uses a microkeratome for flap creation, I Lasik is a procedure that uses the Intralase method, which is flap creation with a laser, not a microkeratome, and PRK is a bladeless procedure that uses no laser or microkeratome. The difference between them is recovery time, after a full 3-6 months of recovery time results should be relatively the same, however not everyone is a candidate for all of them. The vision should remain the same for life, very few patients ever need an additional surgery after the first go. You can most certainly do the procedure again, provided that your eye is still in good health when that comes to pass, but again, our goal is to get you visual-worry free for life! It'd be best to come in for a consultation if you're worried you won't be a candidate before purchasing the Groupon, and you can most certainly get another exam done! Since this is a promotional Groupon deal, the voucher price will not change because of insurance, the price is already at an amazing status! Additional cost for any bladeless alternative would be an extra $550 per eye. The only reason we say to get the consultation beforehand is for those who feel uncomfortable buying the Groupon before seeing our amazing facilities and our doctors, they feel safer that way, but yes you get refunded if you don't qualify. If Presbyopia has not set in, regular Myopia or Hyperopia correction would fix both your near and distance vision, but this is something complicated and best explained in person. Hope I was of help! Q:

Your ad says "candidates will be refunded or can use the value towards PRK/LASEK". So what if I'm not a candidate for LASIK but I am a candidate for PRK but I decide not to have the PRK done, I'm I still eligible for a full refund? How long does the refund process take? Thanks

Latisha G.  asked on  Sep 14, 2011

A:

Hello Latisha, YES. If you are not a candidate for LASIK but you are a candidate for PRK but you decide not to have the PRK done, you are still eligible for a full refund. The refunding process would be contingent on Groupon, it could be anywhere from a few business days to a week or two! Thai, Patient Consultant NYNJLasik
