What You'll Get

Time travel may be theoretically impossible for those without ready access to black holes, but as a new Groupon subscriber, you have the opportunity to go back in time to one of our most popular deals. More than 10,000 Chicago subscribers bought this Groupon the first time around, and now we're bringing it back just for you: $3 for $10 worth of authentic deli grub at NYC Bagel Deli.

At both its South Wacker Drive and North Avenue locations, NYC Bagel Deli celebrates the individual players of New York's famous Tuesday Bagel Parade with fresh bagels prepared by hand every morning. The doughy discs come in every desirable variety on a comprehensive bagel menu filled with bagel flats ($1.25), bags of bagel chips ($3.99), and hot oatmeal with seasonal fruits that has spent copious amounts of time looking at and thinking of bagels ($3.99). The boiled dough rings incorporate all sorts of flavors, such as poppy, sesame, onion, garlic, cinnamon raisin, everything, and pumpernickel ($1.25 per bagel), each awaiting a creamy outerwear of chive, honey walnut, jalapeño, lox spread, or veggie lite cream cheese ($2.25 for a bagel with plain cream cheese, $2.70 for a bagel with flavored or lite cream cheese, $3.25 for a bagel with lox spread).

If a schmear takes bagels from 1-D to 2-D, then multiple layers of fresh meats and cheeses bring the bagel sandwich into the cubic realm. Two-egg breakfast bagels are served all day long ($3.75) and precede a hall-of-fame roster of sandwich concoctions built on substantive bagel buns ($4.95–$8.95). Appetites steer down avenues of London port roast beef, solid-white albacore tuna salad, and honey-maple turkey ($7.95 each), each with a classic pickle riding sidecar to complete the feast.

NYC Bagel Deli was featured on ABC 7's quest to find the perfect bagel sandwich, and Centerstage Chicago and Time Out Chicago highly recommend it:

  • This place turns out really good bagels, and if you’re into lox-and-cream-cheese sandwiches, you aren’t likely to find a better one in the city. – Time Out Chicago
  • Working to bring real bagels to the Midwest, NYC Bagel Deli is the only place in Chicago whose bagels are kettle-boiled, not baked. And the results are mouthwatering (one native New Yorker said these are the only bagels in the city that she'll eat)... this one-of-a-kind shop has clung onto the traditional deli feel. Enter and you are swept into a New York reality: the service is quick but personalized, even the New York accent is detectable. – Corrie Driebusch, Centerstage Chicago

Yelpers give both the South Wacker and North Avenue locations four-star averages, and Metromixers give the North Avenue spot a near-perfect 4.4-star rating:

  • ...in Chicago, NYC Bagel Deli reigns supreme! – Mindy S., Yelp
  • Huge authentic NY bagels piled high with fresh deli meats, cheese and fixins... I've only been there once and I'm already obsessed with it. – Becky, Metromix
