In this sewing class, students will learn basic hand sewing techniques and become familiar with a sewing machine. They will become familiar with different fabrics to incorporate to multiple sewing projects.
Students will learn:
- Basic fundamentals of the sewing machine
- Straight stitch
- Zigzag stitch
- Basic embroidery stitches
- Hand sewing: running stitch, backstitch and slip stitch
- How to sew a button
- Pattern placement
- How to safely use the iron, pins and scissors
- Use creativity to personalize projects
