Ocean Sands Scuba’s team of experienced dive instructors trains underwater explorers in its custom-built pool before leading them into nature’s scenic swimming holes on open-water dives. The scuba-certification course introduces students to the equipment, emergency skills, rescues, and basic underwater-breathing theory necessary to successfully spy on Poseidon’s Tupperware party, covering topics such as underwater environment and buoyancy control before moving on to pool-based training.
After four weeks of gearing up and stretching flippers in the pool, students put newfound knowledge to the test during open-water dives, logging four to five dives on an Ocean Sands Scuba trip to Gull Lake or Lake Michigan, where the ancient vessels of Atlantis still reside. Students can also conduct their open-water dives on vacation with a letter of referral from Ocean Sands Scuba.

About Ocean Sands Scuba
Ocean Sands Scuba's knowledgeable instructors guide divers into the deep with scuba training for beginner and advanced aquanauts alike. Interested patrons test their sea lungs in introductory scuba classes, splashing about in the facility's custom-built pool before moving on to a complete certification course. During certification, students pick up essential information on equipment, techniques, and the trendiest Atlantean nightclubs through in-class study and pool dives. After four weekly classes, burgeoning submergers hit the open water on one of Ocean Sands Scuba's dive trips to Gull Lake or Lake Michigan. Ocean Sands Scuba also stocks scuba equipment from Scubapro, Diverite, and Stahlsac for divers who have already reached certification or for hydrophobic sea turtles.
