What You'll Get
Numerous ecological regulations impact our fish, yet few volunteers are interested in doing the hard work of registering them to vote. Canvas your local waterways with today's Groupon, which gets you a kayak tour from OEX Dive & Kayak. Tours launch from La Jolla Shores in La Jolla. Choose one of the following Groupons:
- For $30, you get a 2.5-hour whale-watching kayak tour (a $65 value). This tour runs daily from December 19 to March 28.
- For $25, you get a two-hour La Jolla sea-cave kayak tour (a $50 value).
Spot the majestic gray whale as it migrates from Alaska to Baja during a one-mile whale-watching kayak tour. OEX's tour guide will lead paddle-pushers to nearby encounters with these mighty mammals, affording up-close views that can't be matched riding on a traditional boat or whale-watching spy blimp. Other potential sights on the tour include seals, dolphins, and turtles. For marine-minded spelunkers, the two-hour La Jolla sea cave expedition leads kayakers on an exploration of seven caves in the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Practice bouncing your echo off the rock walls or simply ponder how you'll get to the pirate gold you imagine to be buried deep within the caverns with each stroke. Each Groupon includes a kayak rental, paddle, life vest, and backrest for one person. Wet suits are available for rent but not included with your Groupon.
Powered by an earth-friendly, paddle-shaped motor, you can peacefully glide across the surface of the water with a crystal-clear environmental conscience. In between occasional grunts and giggles on your quiet ride, you'll have no difficulty catching wind of the wise words of your guide. Each enthusiastic leader will keenly locate local wildlife while peppering in historical gossip related to rock formations that vaguely resemble hometown celebrities.
Clients must be at least six years old. Reservations required. Caves may not be accessible in winter weather.
