Natural-history museums always instill wonder in children who have become bored with their own closet full of skeletons. Discover a body of knowledge with today's Groupon: for $8, you get four general admission tickets (up to a $20 value) to the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, located on the University of Oklahoma campus. Admission for children 5 and under is free every day. The museum is open 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m.–5 p.m. on Sunday.
In existence since 1899, the museum is a historical treasure itself, with more than seven million objects in its collection, including two Guinness World Record–holding dinosaurs. Explore the Hall of Ancient Life, a journey through Oklahoma’s distant, saurus-filled past, built around a centerpiece exhibit of the world’s largest Apatosaurus and Saurophaganax maximus locked in an intense video-game battle. Walk through a realistic Pennsylvanian coal swamp forest crammed full of plants and animals dating back as far as 300 million years. Meanwhile, the Hall of Natural Wonders puts you in the thick of Oklahoma’s natural landscapes, with intricately detailed dioramas including bison and rattlesnakes, as well as enough natural, immersive sounds to convince a cartoon coyote that they're no longer a cartoon.
Admission to the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is free on the first Monday of each month, but this Groupon can be used on any day, and the tickets can be split among different visits.
