About Old 502 Winery
Think about everything you know about wine. Now forget all of it. Old 502 Winery urges you to leave all your previous wine-related wisdom in the decanter and take a sip of something new. This self-proclaimed "anti-winery" challenges industry conventions, churning out batches of eclectic and oftentimes funky wine—think chocolate flavored wine or a "shar-duh-nay" designed to pair nicely with barbecue chips.
And they make every single wine inside their Louisville facility using grapes supplied by local Kentucky farmers. The winemakers even locally source their inspiration, as evidenced by Old 502's Bourbon Barrel Red. For it's oaky taste, the wine spends time maturing in bourbon barrels, much like young farmhands before they emerge as cowboys.
