The restaurant is a thoroughly modern steak house that seems plucked straight out of California's Gold Rush days. Walk through the front doors, and you'll feel like you've stepped back in time: hardwood and stone walls are dotted with mining pans, wagon-wheel chandeliers hang from rough-hewn ceiling beams, and all the clocks spin in confusion. But opening the menu snaps guests back to the modern day. Slow-smoked tri-tip and slow-roasted prime rib complement bourbon-apple chicken and trout almondine, and for dessert diners can unearth a four-tier Gold Rush chocolate cake with fudge icing.
