Summer Tour of Historic Homes in Olde Towne East
In 1982, the Olde Towne East Neighborhood Association organized its first Tour of Homes to increase awareness of Columbus's history and stunning architecture. The event has been on the calendar every summer since, raising money to preserve the neighborhood and its homes. The journey through Olde Towne East takes visitors back as far as the 1830s, spanning a time period wherein horses and trolleys traversed the streets and Ohio's governors boarded with whichever family had the grandest staircase for dramatic entrances. Tour-goers can expect to encounter oodles of architectural styles, including federal, Queen Anne, Italianate, Tudor, and American craftsman.
