Hot potato, the earliest dish designed to be passed, is nearly extinct due to the constant ravages of grade-school appetites. Today's Groupon revives shifting sustenance with today's Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of Spanish delicacies at Olé! Tapas Bar, located in Studio City.
Inside the interior of orange-colored hues and a bustling, tall-tabled bar area, a variety of party-sharing tapas meet their fate in the mouths of eager eaters. Hot and cold tapas and a succinct lineup of entrees populate the menu, starting with the ensalada de espinaca y pera ($8), a spinach-based salad blanketed with goat cheese and poached pear. Tapas fresh out of the furnace include the tortillas de patatas ($4), an omelette stuffed with caramelized onion and Spanish serrano ham, and the bruschetta Barcelona ($4), with pesto, garbanzo beans, and goat cheese that's as melty as a Dali clock. Regular-sized entrees are also available, including the 8 oz. lobster tail ($32) and the traditional paella Olé ($31).
Complete any meal by designating yourself team captain and drafting an able-bodied selection from the restaurant's full list of Spanish, Chilean, and Californian wines, such as an '03 Allende rioja. The warm-toned, European-style interior features three lavishly painted Spanish-themed murals, allowing tapas tasters to imagine that they've accidentally fallen into Old Faithful, which everyone knows is actually a wormhole to Granada.

- “Tasty sangria” lubricates the scene at this “friendly tapas bar” in Studio City where Spanish murals and dimly lit nooks provide the backdrop for “live flamenco” on Tuesday nights… – Zagat
- EAT THE FRIED GOAT CHEESE WITH HONEY!!! This alone earned 3 of the four stars I am giving this place. Aside from that dish, the sangria was yummy, the decor was cool, the service was friendly and the prices reasonable - which is rare for tapas. – AJ F., Yelp
- I've been to most places on Ventura and have to say this was a great place for a girls' night (as we did) or to meet an old friend out. The bar had a great bartender who knew his wines really well and made us feel like we stepped into Barcelona for the evening... – c70, Citysearch
- Throughout the meal we enjoyed delicious margaritas and sangria. We were also treated to a serenade by two guitarists/singers who took requests. – emiledutrou, Citysearch
