Food keeps longer in a vacuum, which is why there are so many hamburgers stuck in low Earth orbit. Today's deal vacuum seals meals without a space launch: for $29, you get one Frisper vacuum-sealer starter kit from Oliso (a $69.99 value).
Featured in O, The Oprah Magazine and House Beautiful, the Frisper empties air from food-storage sacks, imbuing comestibles with up to five-times-longer shelf life. Set one of the starter kit's quart- or gallon-sized Vac-Snap bags between the Frisper's lips and its single tooth will bite through the plastic at one of 10–12 prepunched circle guides. As the Frisper sucks out the bag's air stuffing, it'll also heat seal the hole so oxygen molecules can't sneak back in while you're not looking. A side light blinks green when the 30-second process is complete.
Once you've tucked your vacuum-sealed fish filet or alien-autopsy sample into the refrigerator, test out the Frisper starter kit's other accessories. Stash dry goods inside a medium or large pantry bag with a plastic zip disk whose magnet can stick conveniently to refrigerator doors or robot butlers. Both types of BPA-free bags can be reused, which can reduce household waste. While the starter kit doesn't include Oliso's Freshkeeper jar- and bottle-toppers, it does include the Flexi Tube that can connect these to the Frisper.
Designed by a San Francisco–based team of inventors, engineers, and research warlocks, the Frisper's sleek design embraces form as well as function. Customers choose from two color options: red or slate.
