About Olmsted County Fair

The long history of the Olmsted County Fair reaches back to July 28, 1860, when the decision to host the first fair was made. For decades the fair was held in different locations where farmers and merchants came to display and sell their products and livestock. In 1919 Dr. Christopher Graham gifted the county a plot of land for permanent fairgrounds, which allowed the institution to grow and develop. Now visitors come to reconnect with nature, foster community, exhibit their handicrafts or livestock, or simply enjoy the food, entertainment, and attractions like animal barns or laser tag.
