From the Tony-winning musical Evita to the much-loved Hitchcock thriller Dial 'M' for Murder, Olney Theatre packs a powerful theatrical punch from winter through summer. And this membership lets you attend any three shows from its exciting 2016 season. First up is the world premiere of Carmen, an Afro-Cuban jazz musical based on the opera by Georges Bizet. Next is Marjorie Prime, a provocative story of 85-year-old Marjorie, who's reinventing memories from the past with the help of a hologram of her dead husband, from Pulitzer Prize nominee Jordan Harrison (Netflix's Orange Is the New Black). Then Hitchcock's classic thriller Dial 'M' for Murder takes the stage, followed by Bakersfield Mist, a collision of class and culture where a down-on-her-luck lady's life may change when she realizes she might unknowingly own a real treasure: a lost Jackson Pollock. The summer kicks off with the legendary Tony-winning Evita, with its anthem "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," and ends with Hypocrites' productions of two of Gilbert & Sullivan's best-loved comic operettas, The Pirates of Penzance and The Mikado, performed in rotating repertory.
