Q&A with Chris Shipps, Owner / Instructor
What is the biggest mistake you see people make when trying to get fit on their own?
Not understanding how exercise and proper eating affects their physical and emotional well-being.
Sweating to the oldies is acceptable, but sweating to the blues less so. Do you find that certain styles and genres of music generate more intense workouts?
Yes. Music with an upbeat rhythm and tone generates more intense workouts. However, when we look to become grounded and balanced through yoga, meditation, or reiki, we incorporate softer and more calming music to help us let go of our stress and find our bliss.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
I often hear people mistakenly say that the can't take a yoga or fitness class because they aren't flexible enough or they're not fit enough. That's akin to someone saying they can't go to the doctor because they're not feeling well enough. Feeling sick is exactly why we go to the doctor, and in the same way, not being flexible or fit are great reasons to take a yoga or fitness class.
