Male pageantry may not save lives, but for one night in Chicago, it just might save a pool of donation money—and lives. For a $15 donation, you'll get one ticket to One Man Chicago at the Harris Theatre in Millennium Park on Thursday, September 2, at 7:30 p.m., plus entrance to the official after party at Hard Rock Hotel Chicago. All donations from today's Groupon will enter the charitable prize pool, which will then be awarded to one of 20 competing community organizations.
Hosted by NBC's Ginger Zee and Kelli Zink, One Man Chicago is a playful evening of fashion shows, trivia, interviews, and unpredictable on-stage antics, all in the name of charity. Under the sarcasm and scrutiny of the local-celebrity panel, each of the 20 kind-hearted heartthrobs will attempt to sell his communal cause and personal character by blowing kisses of knowledge toward the audience throughout the night. After the judges have selected a winner from the pool of gents—which includes Chris Conlu, tethered representative of the youth-conscious Chicago Professionals for Youth network, and Desmond L. Kemp, the single-night spokesman for the Passrite Education Foundation—the party then strolls up to Hard Rock Hotel Chicago, where hometown hip-hop spinner Na Palm finishes out the night with a lively performance.
