About One Trick Pony
One Trick Pony inhabits one of Grand Rapids' oldest continually occupied buildings. Before the eatery took over the space, its walls had housed a general store, a tack shop, a meat market, and more—an epic line of businesses that can be traced back to 1856.
One Trick Pony has been in business for over 23 years and has held down the fort for more than 15 years, though, and the culinary staffers aren't going anywhere. The secret to their longevity? They're only interested in one trick: serving up hot, made-to-order dishes to their clientele. Their creations range from brick-oven pizzas to panko-crusted walleye, which diners wash down with wine and cocktails. Live musicians play on the premises on Thursday nights, too, an homage to the days when it was legal to take off your headphones.
