oneBody

The team of instructors at oneBody really know their way around a mat. With more than 20 years of combined experience, they encourage students to take charge of transforming their bodies in Pilates classes. Rather than toning muscles by consulting a genie, their group equipment classes incorporate pupils’ own body weight and combine spring wall and mat into each class. Sessions require a minimum of three participants and a have a maximum attendance of four. Sunlight filters in through the windows of the studio, with exposed-brick walls and rich wooden rafters that enhance the loft's serenity. Both group classes, which are limited to four students, and private sessions focus on technique and proper alignment, giving each person individual attention.

The fitness studio is overseen by lead instructor Nicky Chronopoulos, who pushed her body to its limits day after day in her career as a dancer. After suffering an ankle injury, she decided to explore alternative forms of body movement to work toward recovery. She began studying Pilates and Gyrotonic, and wanted to share the muscle-building and rehabilitative effects she learned with others. Now, she uses her certifications as a Gyrotonic instructor and Pilates Master Teacher to helm classes and head up the oneBody team.
