I love the OC Register! My parents had it throughout my childhood, teen years and into young adulthood, and I've had it off and on for years. The articles are well-written, interesting and topical. (Although I always find grammatical errors such as misspelled words, incorrect punctuation or mixed tenses, etc.) The graphics, which are usually awesome, augment the articles and add to the enjoyment of the reading. They also have online articles to read, if you don't want to bring the paper with you or want to read it online. Only one thing bugs me; I don't currently have a subscription, but sometimes I'll see a post on FB that references an article that turns out to be from the OC Register. If I try to follow the post to the article, the OC Register only lets me read the first few sentences before covering the article with an offer to start a subscription. That's a bit chintzy. BUT, otherwise, I love this newspaper and always have.

About Orange County Register

The Orange County Register has three Pulitzer Prizes to its name, but then again, it's had plenty of time to collect them. Founded in 1905, the daily newspaper has won journalism's top honor for its photographs of the 1984 Olympics, its military-affairs coverage in 1989, and its 1995 investigative reporting on unethical practices at a UC Irvine fertility clinic. Besides incisive analysis of local and national news and thoughtful culture coverage, the paper's Knowledge Cafe connects readers directly to experts, professionals, and specialized organizations—so anyone can get investment tips from a financial institution, medical information from a hospital, or recommendation for crystal-ball maintenance from a psychic.
