What You'll Get
Internationally renowned violoncello player Meehae Ryo, along with conductor Travis Hatton, will perform rare works by Beethoven and Schumann as part of this year's Oregon Music Festival. Ryo (Korea) begins this Signature Series concert with Schumann's Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, a piece that defined cello concertos for decades after its release, plus another surprise piece that has yet to be announced. The evening ends with the familiar pomp and joy of Beethoven's second symphony, written by the composer as he began to understand that his deafness was incurable.
Approximate running time is two hours.
This show is recommended for audiences ages 13 and older.
