Before breakfast was the first meal of the day, it was part of a mid-day supermeal—Dinner, Breakfast, Nash, & Young. Give breakfast’s solo work its proper respect with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of food and drink at The Original Pancake House. This Groupon is valid at all three Winnipeg locations on Forks Market Road, Pembina Highway, and at the Clarion Hotel on Portage Avenue.
Perfecting breakfast since 1958, The Original Pancake House fixes up appetites with salvos of savoury syrup-sponges and a massive menu of all-day entrees. One of many options to celebrate Pancake Tuesday, the legendary giant apple pancake ($10.99) cradles bites of freshly sliced apples under blanket forts of imported Saigon cinnamon glaze. Various specialty pancakes ($7.99–$8.99) convince passing hungers to acknowledge their "honk if you're lonely for hot syrup" signs. A platter of bacon and eggs ($7.99) with home-style hash browns and a choice of toast or three buttermilk pancakes sets the tone for the rest of the day, as do a variety of burgers, wraps, and quesadillas that fill deserving stomachs with tasty hugs from the inside.

The Original Pancake House Winnipeg
The Original Pancake House has been serving up homey, scratch-made breakfasts since 1958, when entrepreneur Wally Guberman opened the original location on Pembina Highway. Today, three locations of the Winnipeg institution serve up an expanded menu of more than 40 types of pancakes, crepes, waffles, and french toast, as well as lunch fare such as burgers and soups. Specialties include an enormous oven-baked apple pancake, whose cinnamon-sugar glaze always gets all over the chins of local giants. Guests can wash down their meals with steaming mugs of The Original Pancake House's signature special-blend coffee.
