Q:

I have never been on a river rafting adventure, but would like to give it a try -- While I'm after adventure, I'm not looking for a frightening event on my first go around of river rafting... this one seems to be kind of "scary" per se, but maybe not? Wondering if this would be a good "first" rafting experience to engage in? Also wanting to bring my 12 yo son -- first time for him too. ~Marlo

Marlo L.  asked on  May 7, 2013

A:

The Wenatchee River is a GREAT first river trip - provided you do not go when the river is running exceptionally HIGH. Between now (early May) and mid-June the river is likely to be running high and cold.

Q:

Is there a weight limit (per person) for this activity?

Sara M.  asked on  May 7, 2013

A:

The short answer is - NO. However, you should bear in mind a few things. If you are a larger person and not a good swimmer, you will DEFINITELY want to avoid the river in HIGH water periods (now through mid-June). If you choose to come in peak water periods, you should be able to swim and assist in getting back in to the raft (if you happen to fall overboard). See our blog on our website for more specifics.

Q:

How many people can fit in a raft? And if we buy that many can our party go in the same raft?

Abbie M.  asked on  May 7, 2013

A:

Six or seven normal to larger size people is PERFECT. It is possible to squeeze 8 together IF they are folks under 140lbs in the group. And - YES - we will keep your group intact.

James O.  from  Merchant  replied on  May 7, 2013

Q:

What are the age ranges of these expeditions

Colette M.  asked on  May 7, 2013

A:

Our protocol for the Wenatchee River: 12 years and up - 100 lbs and up Once summer arrives and the river starts to wind down, we WILL make exceptions.

Q:

What level are the rapids. We have not done this river before -will be doing it as a family (our youngest son is almost 13), but we don't want to be bored either - we love a bit of adrenaline :)

Sloane C.  asked on  May 8, 2013

A:

Class III - meaning they are good, introductory, non-technical white water rapids. What Class III does NOT mean is that the waves are a particular size. Class III white water rapids can have very large waves and hydraulics. The best white water on the Wenatchee will be between now and mid-June.

Q:

I bought this groupon and have tried booking it through the company's website, but it is not accepting my groupon voucher number. I've tried calling and emailing the company, but have gotten no results. Please advise.

Miriam G.  asked on  May 11, 2013

A:

Miriam - Unfortunately, we are unable to load the Groupon codes into our Reservation system, so folks are forced to contact us by e-mail or phone. To add to the confusion, our office has only two phone lines - which would be more than adequate if the online system was working - but, alas, it is not. I don't have a good answer for you, but I assure you, we are doing everything possible under the circumstances to respond to those who are trying to schedule their time on the river. I will see if I can find your e-mail or phone message and get you scheduled. I appreciate your patience.

A:

One other note - it is Mother's Day weekend and our offices are closed. I will be back in the office at 9am Monday morning to handle messages and requests for reservations. Fear not - there are many openings throughout the remainder of the season.

More Questions and Answers

Q:

Some of my friends bought the weekend and some bought the weekday groupon. I know it says valid only for option chosen but are there any exceptions that can made for us to go together on a weekend? Thanks!

Eric S.  asked on  May 13, 2013

A:

We set aside a specific number of Groupons for the weekends and a specific number for weekdays. Those who have Weekday Passes but want to go on a Weekend may pay for an upgraded ticket.

Q:

What Sunday dates are available for the groupon deal in June? We are a group of 4 and want to be on the same raft. Are wetsuits provided? What time do we meet in the morning and what time are we finished? What is a typical guide "Tip" for the trip? Thanks, Eddy

eddy h.  asked on  May 12, 2013

A:

All Sundays still have some availability in June. Wetsuits are provided at no extra cost. The meet times for the Groupon Deal are either 9am, 12 Noon or 1pm. $10 a person would be a 'minimum' tip. $15 would be par.

Q:

Is this groupon per person? Like does each person on the Raft need to buy one, or is it 1 groupon per raft?

Raman  asked on  May 11, 2013

A:

This Groupon is - most definitely - per person.

Q:

We are just two people. Will we be accommodated in different group or Do we need a group of 6(what ever number is) to raft ? In addition, the coupon indicates its a 3.5 hour raft for $35. Correct ? Als0, If I buy now, Can I participate on May 26 ?

Balaji B.  asked on  May 11, 2013

A:

You may participate as a couple. You do not need a party of people to join a river rafting trip. However, our May 26th date is booked. How about May 27th?

James O.  from  Merchant  replied on  May 12, 2013

A:

How about May 25 ?

Q:

Any chance to extend the date so we could use with friends visiting on August 21-23?

John a.  asked on  May 8, 2013

A:

The Groupon is for the Wenatchee River and, unfortunately, I doubt the Wenatchee will still be white water that late in August. That is why we have the coupon expire on the 11th of August. We will be rafting the Skagit at that time of the year. It is dam-controlled and ALWAYS has water in it.

James O.  from  Merchant  replied on  May 8, 2013

Q:

Can I check and see if the dates my family can go are available so I don't buy the deal and then find out we can't use it? There are four of us and the week of August 4-9 is good for us.

Christine H.  asked on  May 8, 2013

A:

Your Groupon would be valid through that week. We do not anticipate the river being high enough to raft past August 11th this season.
