Boggy Creek’s expert swamponauts ably escort guests through the Everglades’ headwaters with a fleet of U.S. Coast Guard–certified airboats. During a one-hour tour, up to 17 nature seekers explore the tall grasses and waters of Florida’s wetland wilderness, cruising across the surface at speeds of up to 45 miles per hour. USCG-certified captains point out the nearby wildlife, such as alligators sneaking through the brush, bald eagles gliding across the sky, and groups of penguins enjoying a summer vacation. After each tour, passengers can watch a live gator handling and are allowed to hold the animal but aren’t allowed to put it in a dress. Tours run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, though advanced reservations are required. All vessels are supplied with life preservers and all passengers are supplied with ear protection to muffle loud noises from the fan-propelled boat.

Boggy Creek Airboat Rides

In 1994, owners Chris and Margie Long established Boggy Creek Airboat Rides with a single, six-passenger vessel. Recently, their company celebrated its 20th anniversary, and their fleet has grown to more than a dozen boats, and the business has whisked more than one million passengers through Orlando's nearby wetlands. From two locations, Boggy Creek's fan-propelled watercrafts launch into the Florida Everglades, exploring the swampy habitats of gators, turtles, eagles, exotic birds, and exiled Frankensteins. Seven different tours offer varied experiences, including a night ride, during which participants observe red-eyed gators prowling for prey. US Coast Guard–certified captains helm every ride, which are safe for explorers of all ages—even infants

Customer Reviews

Captain Fred was great. We really enjoyed our time riding the boat and learning not only about the swamp but also about Native Americans from the area. I highly recommend adding Boggy Creek to your Florida adventure.

Great nature place, a little too much of the tourist tacky angle maybe but I guess that's what sells in Central Florida. The restaurant is new and looks like it could be good. Airboat Captain was good.
