What You'll Get
History is like Frankenstein's monster; all it takes to make it come alive is the right education, a large body of artifacts exhumed from the earth, and an electrical storm. Learn from the past with today's Groupon for adult admission to the Oshkosh Public Museum. Choose between the following options:
- For $7, you get two adult tickets (up to a $14 value).
- For $14, you get four adult tickets plus $5 at the museum store (up to a $33 value).
Founded in 1924, the Oshkosh Public Museum educates visitors in 10,000 square feet of exhibit space, holding more than 250,000 items illuminating the history and heritage of Oshkosh and the Lake Winnebago region. Permanent exhibits include folk art, Native American artifacts, and historical photographs taken before Teddy Roosevelt brought color to the world by squeezing it out of wild rainbows. Special collections include the upcoming Bling! exhibition, spotlighting fashion and accessories from the 19th and 20th centuries. The 8-foot tall Apostles Clock wows visitors with an hourly show featuring mechanical figurines acting out biblical scenes, accompanied by an internal music box. Built for a turn-of-the-century lumber baron, the historic Edgar Sawyer Home showcases Edwardian architecture, an interior design by New York's Tiffany Studios, and such early 1900s luxuries as hot-water boilers, an elevator, and speakers blaring flapper-repelling waltzes.
Groupon holders who choose the second option also receive a $5 credit at the museum store. While strolling through this keepsake emporium, customers can pick up educational books and replicas, grab souvenirs for friends, or purchase a gentle reminder for time-traveling houseguests to go home.
