Like octopi, tattoos contain ink, are typically found among sailors, and can frighten young children in swimming pools. Protect tots from scary tats with today's Groupon: for $39, you get one hour of tattoo work at Ouch Studios (a $100 value).
Ouch Studios' quartet of experienced, licensed tattoo artists artfully graces human canvases with precise, elaborate designs. During an hour of ink time, artists can emblazon upper arms with a tribute to Eleanor Roosevelt or begin work on tattooing a set of six-pack abs on a client's back. Staff members work with customers to draw up custom designs, and a wall of time-tested flash lets clients select from hundreds of predrawn masterpieces. Dedicated to keeping their shop clean and their clients safe, the tattooists only wield disposable needles, tubes, and ink caps, and properly dispose of all medical waste. After the session, the artists send patrons home with skincare products and instructions on how to care for new tattoos and prevent them from hopping off onto the family cat.
The artists at Ouch Studios transmit years of artistic experience in the form of unique body art, drawing upon a range of interests. As the shop's driving force, Troy Christensen strives to provide a shop that creates quality body art at a reasonable price. Arron MacKeogh embraces the challenge of drafting and inking custom creations, from portraits of Che Guevara to designs from Alice in Wonderland. Alex Lees gives nod to the horror genre with movie monsters and villains, and Stephanie Wilkins adorns blank skin with designs that have, as the studio puts it, "that feminine touch."
The staff looks out for client safety during each step of the process, beginning with a hand-wash sink adjacent to every station. Brand-new disposable tubes, needles, and ink caps with every tattoo service prevents any chance of cross-contamination or winding up with the same tattoo as the last customer. Afterward, the team seals the used material in a medical-grade container before properly disposing of it.
