Ancient nomads believed that nature throbbed with the rhythms of distant planets until they stumbled upon a nearby punk-rock mosh pit. Celebrate the discovery of music with today's Groupon: for $149, you get a camping and concert weekend season pass at Outback Camping's Party Campground (a $299 value). This Groupon covers four concert-and-camping events on the following weekends: May 20–23, July 1–3, July 29–August 1, and September 2–5. The campground is located near Port Burwell.
During the summer's long weekends, Outback Camping combines three nights of outdoor living with a full slate of concerts and other special events on 12.5 acres of Lake Erie wilderness. The party kicks off May 20 with the Club Challenge weekend, which indulges camper ears with sets by The Salads, Dinosaur Bones, and San Sebastian. Counteract head-banging competitions with games such as inflatable jousting, competitive reading, and an outsized obstacle course. Prizes include a private meet-and-greet with the weekend headliners, the Arkells.
Canada Day festivities take centre stage starting July 1 with the Ohhhh Canada! weekend, which will include performances by Maestro, Dead Celebrity Status, and Choclair. Campers and patriotic woodland creatures can participate in contests for the best Canadian sculpture, best rendition of the national anthem, and best Canada-themed body art. Late-summer doldrums meet their match in the Mardi Gras–themed Gotta Getaway weekend from July 29–August 1, during which time the campground will bedeck itself in beads, throb with zydeco music, host Creole vendors, and spark spontaneous parades. The season ends with the RAM Rockin' Rodeo on September 2–5, when broncos, cowboys, country music, and dogs named Blue will overrun the park for an end-of-summer hootenanny.
In addition to admission to all music events, a season pass includes a three-night stay at one of 60 campsites and access to any number of outdoorsy diversions, such as canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, and beach bumming, as well as higher octane pursuits including paintball and extreme canasta. Temporary tent dwellers can also lounge by Outback Camping's pool or take refuge in the Tiki Club, where DJs play tunes each night into the wee hours.
