“I know this much is … true.” With these words, Spandau Ballet burst onto the American music scene in the ’80s. Leading figures of the British New Romantic scene, the band quickly sailed to the top of the charts in the U.S. as well. Elegant, well-dressed and oozing cool, Spandau Ballet helped usher in an era of pop music that looked amazing in addition to sounding great. Now they’re back for one more dance, taking the stage at the OC Fair’s Pacific Amphitheatre for a night of classic ’80s tunes and a trip back in time to a decade when it wasn’t just about the music, it was about the style, and these guys still have style in spades. Also appearing is L.A. favorite, DJ Richard Blade, who’s been spinning top ’80s hits since landing in the U.S. from England in 1982. If it’s about the ’80s, then he’s involved somehow. He’s best known for his shows on MTV, VH1, KROQ, Sirius Satellite Radio and Star 98.7.
