A mysterious inventor and his life-sized doll wreak havoc on an unsuspecting couple in the comic ballet Coppélia. This version originally choreographed by the great George Balanchine packs candy-colored set pieces and spun-sugar costumes into its fun, frothy tale of two lighthearted lovers whose lives are disrupted when the male half starts blowing kisses to an enigmatic beauty in a nearby window. It turns out that the window is part of Dr. Coppelius' workshop, and the woman sitting there his incredibly lifelike doll. Misunderstandings and mayhem ensue as Pacific Northwest Ballet's playful production plays at Seattle's McCaw Hall.
