Amusement parks provide kids a mix of fun and education, allowing them to experience the g-force of roller coasters and learn how to trade insurance information after bumper-car accidents. Show your license and registration for entertainment with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get an unlimited-ride wristband to Pacific Park, located on the Santa Monica Pier (a $21.95 value). This Groupon is only valid on days when the park is in Expanded or Full Operation. View the calendar to find applicable dates.
Verging on its 15th year in amusement-making, Pacific Park thrills visitors with 12 flashy, fast-paced rides and a spread of games and attractions. Wristbanded guests vault into the gondolas of the solar-powered Pacific wheel, which lazily lifts its passengers more than 130 feet above the air while mesmerizing eyes with the bombastic display of more than 160,000 LED lights, the same number as the sun itself. Passengers on the thrilling West coaster travel the length of the park at 35 miles per hour, sending their joyful screams echoing out across the picturesque Santa Monica Bay and Pacific Ocean. Futuristic, dual-lever-controlled vehicles rebound and spin in the bumper-car arena, while nautical adventures abound on Inkie’s Pirate Ship, which bucks and rolls as though caught in a fierce storm or a swiftly draining bathtub.
Though not included in today’s deal, park visitors may wish to try their hand at one of the 18 midway games scattered throughout the park, or feast upon the numerous dining and snack options from Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Harbor Grill, and others.
Pacific Park’s attractions celebrate Santa Monica Pier’s history with classic rides that run with modern technology. The Pacific Wheel uses solar energy to circle 130 feet into the air, where fist bumps from the man in the moon and scenic views of the coastline await. The energy-efficient attraction is one of many rides, which include classics such as a roller coaster, a four-story tower drop, and the tilt-a-whirl Shark Frenzy, where riders sit comfortably in the mouths of seven kinds of sharks. In addition, they'll soon open up the Seaside Swing in the Kid's Cove area. Visitors can earn prizes at midway games, refuel at the food court or the on-site taco joint Whac-a-mole Tacos, and get their adrenaline pumping on Gyro Loop or Beach Bounce.
