What You'll Get
Archery helps maintain nature’s balance—hunters wield bows to keep deer populations in check, while Cupid’s arrows make deer fall in love. Keep the circle of life moving with today's Groupon: for $35, you get an archery-lesson session for two (a $70 value) at Pacifica Archery in Daly City. One person could also use this Groupon twice. The session includes the following:
- Two half-hour lessons, one for each person (a $15 value each)
- Two half-hours of lane time, one for each person (a $12 value each)
- Equipment rental (an $8 value for each person/session)
Pacifica Archery’s seasoned bowmasters school novice marksmen ages 8 and older with one-on-one lessons followed by solo practice time on regulation-size lanes. After fitting their charges with professional-grade equipment, instructors bestow expert guidance in how to properly hold a bow, how to aim, and how to shoot apples off of people’s heads without getting juice in their eyes. Led by owners Joseph and Beth Snell, trainers conduct lessons on one of Pacifica’s 15 20-yard indoor lanes, which can also be shortened to 10 yards to augment beginners’ luck. An hour of solo practice follows to give students a chance to hone their skills and work up a suitable grudge against the bull’s-eye. Pacifica’s facilities are wheelchair-accessible and boast a pro shop packed with top-range gear and bow-maintenance-and-repair services.

About Pacifica Archery
Archers Joseph and Beth Snell opened Pacifica Archery as an all-purpose shop for shooters of any age. Now, the pair stays busy supervising 15 lanes, scheduling lessons for various skill levels, and hosting league events. The Snells rent out equipment for visitors to use on the 20- and 10-yard lanes, whether they are students attending a seminar or competitors honing their form. The Snells cater to young enthusiasts with archery-development programs, which instruct 8- to 18-year-olds on the finer points of arrow-launching. The onsite pro shop furnishes patrons with long, recurve, and compound bows as well as shooting accessories. Channeling their own hunting expertise, the Snells stock camouflage gear and decoys in the shape of common game, including elk, turkey, and dartboards that have escaped from dive bars.
