Giving a child creative time is like giving a plant sunlight: it enables it to grow strong, learn a trade and eventually pay your nursing home bills. Enable your youngsters' developmental photosynthesis with today's Groupon: $10 for an Art Explorer family pass at Paint Paper Scissors in the Oak Place Center (a $20 value). Passes are good for four drop-in visits for children, and adults must accompany and supervise. With multiple children, each child accounts for one visit.
Paint Paper Scissors encourages kids to explore the world through their own artistic creations, fostering the development of life and problem-solving skills, and opening new paths of self-expression. In the Art Explorer program, drop by to begin work on original parent-child collaborations in a variety of media, from paint to decorative beads. Precocious Picassos will bloom with the help of experienced instructors, on hand to guide the artistic process, answer questions and settle intellectual property disputes.
Paint Paper Scissors springs from the artistic vision of founder Aliza Cantu, a former first-grade teacher and Director of Education at the San Antonio Children's Museum. Ms. Cantu's many years working on art with kids, many of whom provide her free VCR programming to this day, include many works created with her daughters, Sophie and Iliana.
