About Palmetto Distillery
Trey and Bryan Boggs, the brothers behind Palmetto Distillery, carry on their family name by producing the first legal moonshine in South Carolina. Of course, the Boggs' familiarity with moonshine goes back further—much further—to the colorful Dock Boggs, born in 1898, who was famous for playing folk music in the early 1900s, and running bootleg. Today, the brothers look to Dock for their inspiration, producing both traditional and specialty moonshines, including an apple pie variety made with cider cooked in-house. They also produce Palmetto Whiskey, made with 21% rye and matured in New French Oak barrels, and have gone on to be named SC Whiskey Distillery of the Year, as voted by the New York International Spirits Competition.
