What You'll Get

Bowling shoes aren’t just fashionable—they provide the added 2 inches of height needed to load your ball into a regulation-size trebuchet. Lace up and reach for a three-holed pin-puncher with today’s Groupon: for $35, you get a family night package, which includes two games of bowling, shoe rental, pizza, breadsticks, and soda for four people at Palos Verdes Bowl in Torrance (up to a $73.50 value).

For more than five decades, Palos Verdes has been giving families and friend-families a place to hang out, have fun, and nosh in between rounds. Slip into tractionless shoes ($3) and engage in a family activity more therapeutic than charades by playing two pin-destroying bowling rounds ($9–$17 per person depending on the night). Appetites worked up on the alleys are sated with pizza ($14/large), breadsticks ($5, large), soda ($1.75 each), and the sweet taste of heaving a ball of vengeance toward your pinemies.

Karaoke on weekends, darts, and a full-service grub station please those abstaining from pin-play. Palos Verdes ensures entertainment for brood outings, twin double dates, or nonrelated, platonic competitive bridge teams.

  • I recently went with a few friends and we got in a solid 5 games, played some pool, and had some good ol' american fun. It was a great night and i have no doubt that everyone enjoyed themselves. – Michael C., Yelp, 01/31/2010
  • PV Bowl is a simple, yet nice bowling alley. There isn't all the craziness as with "Rock-n-bowl" You can just go and play a few games for a good price. – Tarasha D., Insider Pages

About Palos Verdes Bowl

Palos Verdes Bowl has been open for more than half a century, but just because it's reached middle age doesn't mean it lacks modern amenities. On Wednesday and Saturday evenings, the alley's karaoke hours turn civilians into celebs as they rock out and star in music videos in front of a greenscreen. The stage also plays host to professional musicians on Thursdays and Fridays. Throughout the week, bowlers can take a break to engage in winner-takes-all conversation over sliders, wings, and pizza from the onsite cafe, Maxine's, or a tall brew from the onsite bar, The Cove.
