About Ugly Duck
Despite the name, there isn’t anything remotely ugly about Ugly Duck. A vibrant abstract mural that spans the color spectrum adds an aesthetic pop to the clean, modern space, and the plates of Japanese-American street food arrive at tables looking they were plucked from the glossy pages of a high-end food magazine. A fried egg, for instance, ornately crowns a mound of duck fried rice garnished with fuji apple and confit, while shoaling glaze adds an eye-grabbing sheen to spicy baby clams adorned in fresh cilantro leaves. But beyond just being camera-friendly, the Asian-inspired dishes proudly boast locally-sourced meats and produce from area farms whenever possible.
