About Panda Kidz Martial Arts
Mary Malena's black-belt status, title as 2013's Taekwondo Women's Florida State Champion, and 20-year martial arts background would be enough to justify a sense of superiority. But if not for her obvious skill, you'd probably never know that Sensei Mary holds all those honors. She's the epitome of patience and humility as a teacher of little ones at Panda Kidz Martial Arts.
The curriculum that she has developed specifically for students aged 2–5 never evokes feelings of inadequacy, and that's probably due to the fact that pupils don't compete against peers. Instead, they compete against themselves, always striving to improve in the kickboxing and tae kwon do techniques they learn in class so they can advance to the next belt color. In addition to martial-arts skills, kids learn how to count in Japanese and Mandarin and protect themselves from strangers and bullies.
