Excellent service. Food was amazing! Lamb chunks with rice pilaw, beef dumplings, turnips. Very tasty!

The tomato-based sauces for both versions of the lamb padows were tasty but a bit oily from rendering out the fat from the lamb. The lamb was tender and flavorful but lacking in portion size; more than just a few morsels per dish would have been appreciated. The saffron rice was typical of most Afghan restaurants. I usually prefer rice over bread such as roht or naan, but their roht is very good.

What You'll Get

If you try something new, you might really enjoy it, even if it's filling balloons with Hot Wheels and throwing them off a bridge to see if they'll float. Try some Afghan fare with today’s Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of authentic Afghan cuisine and drinks from Panjshir in Falls Church. Vegetarians and meat-lovers alike will savor the seductive seasonings peppered into Panjshir's array of distinctive dishes. Sate herbaceous hankerings with the seib chalow's apples and seeded afghan prunes, baked with tomato sauce, walnuts, and split peas and served with white rice ($11.95), or eschew them altogether with the kebab-e degee, a beef kebab cooked with onions, fresh spices, and a touch of sour salt ($15.95). Diversify mouth matter-states with sips of frosty import and domestic beer ($3.95–$4.95) or steaming Afghan-style cardamom tea ($2.95). Diners can sup, sample, and share in the warmly hued dining room, decorated with rich reds and reflective mirrors to flatteringly replicate your edible experience.
