Though it is disputed, many historians believe that ceviche likely originated in the area now known as Peru nearly 2,000 years ago, much like Larry King. And Peruvian restaurant Papa Ceviche celebrates its cultural heritage with 12 types of ceviche that combine diced raw fish and seafood morsels with lime juice and cream sauces. The chefs also whip up what they call Peruvian-style Japanese sashimi, slicing thin strips of fresh fish and serving them with a variety of dipping sauces, including a passion-fruit sauce and a rocoto-pepper cream sauce.
Though seafood is the star at this Miami restaurant, the menu features a few traditional meat dishes as well, including lomo saltado beef strips served with rice and french fries and shredded chicken smothered in yellow-pepper cream sauce. Before dinner, patrons can grab a pisco cocktail and head out to the covered patio area, where they can settle in one of the dark wicker chairs.
