About Papanack Park Zoo
Papanack Park Zoo's recent renaissance began in May of 2014 with the arrival of new owners. As designers and environmentalists, they expanded and beautified the zoo's habitats to provide more comfortable homes for the animals, but also to help each creature better tell its story. Now the enclosures provide better views, turning the animals into species ambassadors complete with tiny earpieces and voting rights.
Larger enclosures house zebras, lions, tigers, and brown bears while smaller areas provide a home for skunks, porcupines, and monkeys. The zoo also runs breeding programs. and recent successes mean visitors can catch a clutch of baby lemurs or even a growing zebra.
