About Haunted Hotel
The charming interiors of this 19th-century hotel hide a grim story. New Orlean's Haunted Hotel owes its' name to a number of murders and hauntings dating back to 1918. That year was marked by the gory proceedings of The Axeman, an infamous serial killer who used to rent one of the back rooms in the former slave quarters. A handyman during the day and a murderer at night, he used to roam the streets of New Orlean searching for potential victims. Never caught, his identity remains unknown, yet it is believed that his spirit lives to this day within the hotel's premises.
Nowadays, Haunted Hotel is a local landmark beloved by spiritists and ghost hunters. Remodeled rooms provide a chance for a comfortable stay in the heart of New Orleans, though guests should beware as ghost sightings are reported frequently. Those who don't have the courage to stay overnight can use an opportunity to visit the place during ghost tours led by a paranormal investigator Lucky Belcamino.
