Under the chiropractic guidance of Dr. Bret Scheuplein, Park Lake Health & Wellness’s team of talented massage therapists administers therapeutic massages that treat chronic pain and other maladies. The chiropractic exam puts patients through diagnostic tests including a posture assessment, a thermal nerve scan, and, if the doctor deems them necessary and the local power lines aren’t cut by a crow with a hacksaw, a set of x-rays. During a follow-up consultation, the doctor explains his findings and prescribes an appropriate massage. Each massage can target a different set of aches and pains, as the deep-tissue massage loosens tightly wound muscular knots and the myofascial massage eases tension in the body’s fibrous connective tissue. Patients can also enjoy massages without the examination during one or two relaxing sessions or by unhooking their arms and reaching them around behind themselves.
