Although it predates smell and taste, the sense of humor is generally denigrated by the five "traditional" senses because it's unlikely to play a critical role in preventing a car crash or surviving a bacon avalanche. Stand up for your most overlooked sense with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $25 toward admission at Parlor Live Comedy Club in Bellevue.
Featuring nationally renowned entertainers, Parlor Live Comedy Club provides customers with a well-rounded entertainment experience. Upcoming joke jockeys include such A-listers as Kevin Pollack, Greg Giraldo, Gilbert Gottfried, and Mitch Fatel, a group of funnymen capable of making dour, bitter bison crack a smile and putting naturally giggly hyenas into a humor coma. Come by to watch the pros do their thing, or show up on Sundays to take the stage yourself in an open-mic extravaganza perfect for testing out experimental jokeless comedy. Between guffaws and chuckles, you can load up on laughter fuel (not included in your Groupon) such as pan-seared pork ribs ($12), prosciutto-and-pineapple pizza ($11), and grilled gaucho steak with chimichurri sauce ($13).
A 21+ facility, Parlor Live Comedy Club features a 16-channel digital sound system, helping each joke hit the audience with funny-bone-shattering force. The club offers free parking, making it easy to drive to the show, and no drink minimum, facilitating safe drives home.
Not valid for Friday and Saturday Special Engagement shows.
Reviews
Seattle Weekly named the Parlor Best Multipurpose Comedy Club 2010, and Bellevue Downtown Association listed it as the Best Place for a First Date in its "Haute Picks 2010." Though some Yelpers mention it can get crowded, most agree that the quality of talent is impressive, and they give it a three-star average.
- With a 16-channel digital sound system, intelligent stage lighting, and national headliners most weekends (Rob Schneider, Hal Sparks, Michael Winslow, etc.), The Parlor Live Comedy Club often outdoes its peers. True, it's upscale and located in the high-toned Lincoln Square in downtown Bellevue, but it's far from pretentious. – Erika Hobart, Seattle Weekly
- I've been to 5 comedy shows at the Parlor and the main stage acts have been hilarious and so fun to watch…Great energy at the club and the crowd is responsive and respectful. – Chenda N., Yelp

About Parlor Live Comedy Club
Parlor Live was added to the Parlor complex in 2008 as a way to bring big city-caliber evening entertainment to suburban Bellevue. National comedians take the stage in a wide, shallow room with seating that wraps around three sides of the action as colored shapes produced by a sophisticated lighting system dance across the walls. A globally inspired menu introduces the agonizing dilemma of whether to laugh, fill one’s mouth, or mold little edible hearts to toss toward the performer with shareable dishes.
