The Parra Academy is amazing. Tuhon Parra is an Austin treasure! We are so very lucky to have such a knowledgeable and talented Martial Artist living here in Austin who is willing to pass on his art. It's like guitar lessons with Stevie Ray Vaughan.

The instructor was excellent at having rapport with the kids, keeping them excited and actively engaged in learning...and...my sons' favorite part was giving them hands-on practice in the grappling sessions. They loved it!

Ray and jeff are nothing less than the best. Went with the groupon, never having been to a martial arts class before and have been a student for almost 6 months now. Try it you will love it!

About Parra Academy of Martial Arts

When the US military needed someone to teach advanced edged-weapons techniques to the 7th Special Forces Group at the US Special Warfare Center, they turned to Ray Parra. When the Texas Department of Public Safety needed training in grappling with edged weapons, they too turned to Ray Parra. And for his efforts, Ray was inducted into the Martial Arts Boxing Hall of Fame in El Paso. But that doesn't mean he's done teaching.

At Parra Academy of Martial Arts, Ray disciplines students from age 3 to 70, scaling his curriculum for each pupil's ability level. He and his staff help newcomers select a program that suits their specific goals, such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a Bruce Lee-inspired Jun Fan method, or Muay Thai boxing—a technique that turns knees, elbows, feet, and fists into weapons as dangerous as swords and as devastating as yo' mama jokes.
