The best way to capture a wild, rampaging meal is to hook it with a gigantic pasta lasso. Test your throwin' arm with today's deal. For $20, you get $40 worth of fresh Italian fare and drinks from The Pasta Tree Restaurant & Wine Bar, on Farwell Avenue near Lake Park.

The Pasta Tree, a charming European-style bistro and wine bar, first took root nearly 30 years ago and has been flourishing ever since. The restaurant's menu features freshly prepared fare, including pasta, sauces, breads, and desserts. Prime your palate with a plate of classic beef carpaccio, served with arugula, mushrooms, and shaved parmesan ($13), or nibble in unison with your neighbors as you share a tasty antipasto plate ($16 for four people). Move on to enjoy something off The Pasta Tree's extensive list of namesake dishes, such as a plate of scallops alla abruzzo (seared sea scallops and steamed broccoli tossed in a shaved garlic flake and crushed red pepper sauce, $19), Gorgonzola alfredo (chunky Italian blue cheese sauce topped with fresh herbs and caramelized onions, $17), or chicken pesto linguini (sautéed chicken breast with black olives, artichokes, and sun-dried tomatoes, $19); all pasta plates are served with your choice of egg, spinach, or whole-wheat noodles. The Pasta Tree adds extra sophistication to a romantic night out with its house specialties, such as the twin lobster tails ($42), cioppino ($26), and smoked salmon alfredo ($18).

The Pasta Tree's cozy confines provide just the right backdrop for rekindling romance. As you take you final bites of dinner, cleanse your palate with some sophisticated sips of wine and feast your peepers on the restaurant's woo-worthy desserts. Dazzle a date with a piece of fresh tiramisu ($7) to share out on the romantic garden patio, or prove yourself monogamous to your own taste buds by polishing off a piece of decadent chocolate nemesis cake ($7) on your own.

The Journal Sentinel gives The Pasta Tree three stars, and Express Milwaukee calls it the Best Italian Restaurant and Restaurant for Romance. While some Yelpers and Citysearchers dock stars for service, they love the restaurant's intimate ambience and fresh food. Yelpers and Citysearchers award four stars, TripAdvisors give 3.5, and 75% of Urbanspooners recommend it.

  • … I've come for the food, and in that department the Pasta Tree in its new era still has got it. Food and service provided plenty of pleasure, and missteps were few on my visits. – Carol Deptolla, Journal Sentinel
  • The sommelier has assembled an impressive selection of wines, which the knowledgeable staff will be happy to expertly pair with your food selection. – Brian Muilenburg, Express Milwaukee

The Pasta Tree Restaurant & Wine Bar

Homemade from egg, spinach, or whole wheat, The Pasta Tree Restaurant & Wine Bar's namesake pasta earned the eatery the honor of best Italian restaurant and runner-up for best romantic restaurant on Express Milwaukee's Best of Milwaukee 2012 list. Now celebrating 35 years of dining excellence, chefs toss them with ingredients such as a gorgonzola Alfredo sauce, caramelized mushrooms, and Australian lobster tail. They incorporate more local ingredients into other homemade delicacies, such as fresh baked bread and tiramisu.

To help wash down each homemade bite, barkeeps pour reds and whites by the glass, whip up classic cocktails, and decant local beers. Feasts unfold in The Pasta Tree Restaurant & Wine Bar's European-style bistro, split between an intimate dining room and a cozy wine bar. There, a fireplace thaws chilly customers in the winter, while a secret garden patio opens in summer to surround diners with aromatic flowers, tranquil fountains, and gnomes that lust after your food but never touch it. Customers also have the option to take the bistro fare to take to a festival or enjoy in a park or on a boat by ordering the gourmet picnic basket for two .
