About Patacon Pisao
In 2005, Patacon Pisao began as a dream in a food truck. Bringing authentic Venezuelan cuisine to New York City centered on a single ingredient: the plantain. Through their mastery of it in dishes like Patacones, a sandwich made with two crispy slabs of green plantain, they were able to use the power of a generations-old recipe to propel themselves into two bricks-and-mortar locations. Their menu has expanded to include other traditional Venezuelan favorites. Arepas, a fried or grilled corn patty, is served with a selection of meats, and the Tachucos, their take on a wrap, make a lighter lunch option. Patrons can wash it all down with unique beverages like brown sugar cane limeade or a cold sweet rice milkshake.
