About Patriots Point
Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, on Charleston Harbor, is South Carolina’s largest museum. Home of the aircraft carrier USS YORKTOWN, visitors walk in the steps of heroes and see history come to life. Explore the most decorated WWII-era destroyer still in existence, the USS LAFFEY, with the new Combat Information Center Experience that puts visitors into a high tension encounter with a Soviet sub during the Cold War. See 28 historic aircraft that once ruled the skies, from WWII to present-day operations. Board the only preserved GUPPY III submarine left in the United States, the USS CLAMAGORE, and discover what life in a submarine was like. Don’t forget to check out the Vietnam Experience Exhibit on your way out. This nearly 3-acre exhibit uses state-of-the-art technology and rare artifacts to bring the war to life. Set in a Brown Water Navy support base and a USMC artillery fire base, the exhibit has over a dozen components. At the Medal of Honor Museum, aboard the USS Yorktown, visitors can discover the story of American heroism. Plan your visit at www.PatriotsPoint.org.
